"Music is my engine!" That's Ulli's motto. He has been passionate about playing the guitar, singing and writing songs since he was young. Working and producing with artists in the studio is a gift of life for him.
After studying electronics at university, Ulli has been working in the audio industry for over 40 years, including 30 years as a sound engineer in several studios (Abbey Road Institute, Berlin and Frankfurt; Prison Studios, Verl; Mirage Studios, Sydney; Studios 301, Cologne ; SAE Studios, GER, AUS, CH, A; Abbey Road Studios, London;).
In the field of live sound engineering, he has worked with Jonas Hellborg, John Scofield, Jack De Johnette, Peter Erskine, Bill Frisell, Ginger Baker, Lester Bowie & Art Ensemble of Chicago, Shirley Bassey, Art Blakey, Charly Antolini and Archie Shepp, among others.
Ulli was the managing director and developer of the company Kemsonic Audio Messsysteme GmbH in Bielefeld and worked for over 20 years as a school director, lecturer and project manager for SAE Germany. He was then a founding member of the Abbey Road Institute Germany, of which he ran the Frankfurt branch for 8 years.
Today he looks forward to working with great artists at Studios 301.
Ulli has been a member of the vdt, Association of German Sound Engineers.
